The Observatory works to advocate for the rights of children and young people in conflict with the law in its participation in events and international forums. In these meetings, the IJJO seeks to position juvenile justice as an important issue in international political agendas, emphasising the need for programmes and strategies which support its efficacy and innovation.
The IJJO contributes from its position of having an extensive trajectory and experience in the field of juvenile justice, as recognised by its Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), its consultative status with UNESCO, and its consideration as Expert NGO at the European Forum on the Rights of the Child of the European Union.
