Closing Conference: Project “i-Restore: Protecting Child Victims through Restorative Justice”

After two years, the EU-funded project “i-Restore: Protecting Child Victims through Restorative Justice” is coming to a close. Implemented by Terre des hommes Europe, in partnership with Terre des hommes Greece, Terre des hommes Romania, the European Forum for Restorative Justice and Restorative Justice Nederland, i-Restore uses an innovative approach to promote the use of restorative justice in cases involving child victims, by empowering children to advocate for better protection of child victims and raising awareness on child-victim friendly restorative justice both among professionals, decision-makers and young people.

Along with the national events organized by country partners in the previous days, the closing conference, held on 4 November, will be a moment to share findings from our comparative review of the legal systems of the focus countries (Albania, Romania, Greece), present the project results, and reflect on lessons learned and future steps to advance child protection and make juvenile justice more child-friendly.

To allow everyone to join in Covid-safe conditions, the conference will be held on Zoom. Yet, it will be more than "another online event": through a mix of media, guest speakers such as Tali Gal, and audience participation, the i-Restore closing conference aims to be an enlightening and inspiring moment for all participants. Simultaneous translation into Romanian, Greek and Albanian will be offered.

As they have been at the core of the project, children will be protagonists of the conference: their voices are crucial, and we want you to hear their insights directly from them.

In fact, members of the youth steering committees set in each focus country, the i-RESTORE Child Advisory Boards that accompanied our project from its start, will join the conference and present the advocacy materials that they have produced throughout the project.

A detailed agenda and the access link will be shared after registration and closer to the event’s date, so book your spot now and join us and our young advocates!

The i-Restore project is co-funded by the Justice Programme of the European Union 2014–2020
