Missing Out. A Study of Child Trafficking in the North-West, North-East and West Midlands

ECPAT UK

Résumé

Throughout this study it has been evident that local authorities have the necessary guidance and infrastructure on child protection. However, trafficked children - and, in general, vulnerable children from abroad - are missing out on accessing local authority services because of their isolation, their immigration status, and because they have no advocate who can speak on their behalf about their special needs. The very high levels of missing children reported in this study are deeply disturbing and should be investigated through a national enquiry into missing
children from abroad.
