Justice Responses for the Developing Brain

Abstract

The second annual Smart on Crime Innovations Conference is a nonpartisan, public statement proving that the momentum for criminal justice reform will continue in the face of outdated “tough on crime” policies. The conference will emphasize the need to maintain a commitment to criminal justice reform and  tackle the unexplored and difficult questions that must be faced in order to move forward toward a smarter, fairer, and more just system.

Justice Responses for the Developing Brain: Justice policymakers who are cognizant of the science of psychological development — from youth to adulthood — consider unique age-appropriate responses that are adapted for different stages in a young person’s life.
