Athanasia Antonopoulou and Angelika Pitsela. K.E.S.A.TH.EA: the Central Scientific Council for the Prevention of and Response to Juvenile Victimization and Juvenile Criminality

Abstract

One of the crucial tests on the planning and the implementation of social public policies in modern states is how they are developed in times of socio-economic crisis. The ability of the societies and the governments to develop resilience in the event of crises is very important especially for juveniles and young people who belong to vulnerable or even marginalized groups, such as young victims and young offenders of crimes. KESATHEA is a low-budget form of public policy for the above groups of juveniles that has been developed during the difficult period that Greece is going through since 2010.
