Agenda

Webinar: Integrating Restorative Justice Principles and Practices Within Juvenile Justice

Seminars

Date

Monday 5th of June 2017

Description

Restorative justice aims to repair the harm caused by crime by involving victims, offenders, families and communities in efforts to identify and address their needs. This empowering and inclusive approach is rapidly expanding within the United States and internationally, bridging community and governmental justice responses with promising results for individual and social change. Yet many juvenile justice providers ask what concrete steps they may take in order to access the promise of restorative justice. Based on hands on experience within the United States and internationally, this webinar will offer a practical framework for those interested in implementing restorative justice principles and practices within juvenile justice departments and agencies.

Participants will:

· Explore the meaning, impacts and misperceptions of restorative justice

· Understand a range of applications of restorative justice principles within juvenile justice practice

· Learn strategies, steps and pitfalls in managing change toward a restorative justice paradigm
