Description

Explore the crime of child sex trafficking investigations and learn best practices in developing solid cases against traffickers and buyers. Learn how the sex trafficking victim presents differently than the child abuse victim. Examine the suspect interview and explore an integrity-based framework which ensures reliable confessions. Upon completion of this training, you will be able to: recognize best approaches to all aspects of child sex trafficking investigations -- interviews, corroboration, technology trends, and proactive operations; understand the victim’s path to victimization and how the trafficker exploits and controls through trauma bonding; and examine the current legal issues and common defenses which arise in child sex trafficking investigations.
